The Amazing Journey

While I can’t know everything, I do know with certainty that every human being is in pursuit of happiness. Mundane life seems to offer so many “obstacles” that ultimately take on the form of reasons or excuses to give up pursuit of happiness or to make no attempt to pursue it in the first place. You are undeniably in pursuit of happiness! Without knowing you personally, I know you want so many things out of your life which you may not have achieved…yet.

It takes a simple change in thinking to make your dream a reality. If you’ve started any kind of residual income business, it’s because you had the audacity to believe that you could shape your destiny on your terms. Imagine that! With millions of people still unemployed, it’ll take some time for a full economic recovery. In the mean time, it’s an excellent opportunity to explore a business that can give you the freedom to earn money without “selling” your personal time.

While I’m no expert on socio-economic trends, I predict that people of the not-too-distant future will, for the most part, have some level of home income business as part of their income “portfolio”. Unless you’re someone with thousands of dollars in disposable cash to buy stock in a company, you’ll start some form of residual income business on the internet. I see a time when almost everyone earns some level of passive income in addition to or in place of the income earned through traditional employment.

Because the internet is still relatively new, it’ll take some time until my prediction becomes common fact. The economic crisis that started in 2008, and still affects millions today, was also a blessing in disguise for many people. The person I was 2 years ago would never imagine typing these words. For me, it was a gradual process. I admit that I started my residual income business out of a lack of options. Today, running my own business online is the only option that interests me. Why would I want to work for someone now? In fact, the only way I’ll consider earning money through a company is by becoming a shareholder of that company.

The initial steps to starting my internet business were the most difficult. I had very little knowledge of what it takes to build a successful, income-generating business online and I was not sure what I would sell online that I could discuss passionately. I paid a business consultant a considerable fee to teach me what I needed to know to become a successful internet marketer. Every step I took toward building my internet business was also a step way outside of my comfort zone. Quite frankly, I wasn’t absolutely certain that I was doing the right thing. No matter how much I analyzed this new idea, there was some residue of skepticism on my part.

To quote Benjamin Disraeli: “The great secret of success in life is for a man to be ready when his opportunity comes”. With that in mind, I dove into my business without ever looking back. A simple change in my thinking and behavior changed my life in ways that I couldn’t anticipate 2 years ago. I find within myself a willingness to assume certain risks that can be explained only by a renewed self confidence. Ironically, I’m far more fearful of the status quo than I am of the unknown. The opposite was true of me 2 years ago! It’s been quite a journey since then, and I’m continuing to grow and learn. May this journey never end!

Up And Running! Now What?

The greatest challenge you’ll face with your new business is marketing it to the masses. Don’t be intimidated by the challenge, as it also presents your greatest opportunity! We live in and are part of a universe that is mostly unknown and unexplored by us. You are part of an infinite greatness, within which possibilities are boundless! With your potential, how can you not attract wealth into your life?

Social media websites, for example, make it possible to market your business in ways that allow you to be genuine. I’ve had traditional sales jobs, for which I was trained to use sales tactics I thought were insulting to human intelligence. For this reason, I was never comfortable with such tactics as the “take-away close”. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but just not me.

While PPC or pay per click advertising is an effective direct marketing technique, it still costs money every time someone clicks on your advertisement with no guarantee of a sale. My favorite way to market my business is to use social media, which is free. Through this medium, you engage in the process of branding yourself and of building relationships with people. Relationship means credibility, which is essential for the survival of any business on or offline.

In spite of its simplicity, the results don’t come over night. It takes a great deal of effort and time on your part. Still, no matter what new web-based marketing technologies become available, the end user will always be a human being, whose trust must be earned so that his(her) final decision to buy is in your favor. For this reason, you’re focus for your business should be to establish credibility and build relationships. An excellent way to establish credibility and build relationships is to blog or to submit articles related to your business.

The fact that your business is new and that you’re an unknown may offer an advantage. Most people can relate to an unknown “Joe Schmoe” more so than to a “high & mighty” guru especially when it comes to product reviews.

Be genuine in your desire to offer people the highest quality of product or service, and your business will inevitably thrive! Make it a pleasure to work hard for your business. No one said it had to be painful! Your success lies in the journey, and part of your journey will be your effort to continually educate yourself on new ways to grow your business by connecting with people. I make it a point to read the articles of other internet marketers, who are successful in their businesses. One can never learn too much about how to make money online.

Finally, keep the company of people, who are a positive influence on you! Avoid discussing your business with those, who think they know every reason why you should quit. Such people, including those with the best of intentions, can’t understand why you’re not content with mediocrity. Be sure to re-charge your sense of motivation and purpose on a daily basis.

The Seed of Faith…The Death of Fear

The seed of faith conceives victory, and the fear of failure aborts it. Although my mentioning of faith doesn’t necessarily refer to religious beliefs, the same principles apply nonetheless. If the opening line strikes a chord in you, it’s only because the message is one that you already know. Perhaps you haven’t explored the true depths of its meaning until now. What is a “seed”? According to Dictionary.com, it’s the germ or propagative source of anything. In nature, seeds are the means by which plants grow from the earth.

So, we know that seeds are natural things that bring forth life. That the seed of faith conceives victory is a natural thing. By victory, I’m not only referring to winnings in politics, business, or sports but also to the successful realization of one’s natural potential. Your natural potential is unlimited! This is why Ambrose Bierce says: “Achievement is the death of endeavor and the birth of disgust.” Your potential is only realized throughout the course of the endeavor! This is the natural course of human living; to grow, learn, and improve until we die. This is our purpose! It’s what H. Tom Collard meant by saying: “Success is a journey-not a destination”.

The seed of faith is a natural thing indeed; that is, the belief that we can achieve whatever we desire if we apply ourselves according to natural law. It’s the reason we have planes, trains, automobiles, and the internet! The fear of failure, however, is based on a lie! In fact, it’s outright unnatural! Human beings come into the world “equipped” with only 2 fears: that of physically falling and that of loud noises. All other fears are learned socially and are, therefore, unnatural. Learned fear is a tool of “abortion”. It’s used by others or by one’s self to “abort” the ultimate victory; the realization of your unlimited, natural potential.

As in any ecosystem, your natural potential can be channeled through the medium of your choosing. I’m not saying that you can necessarily become the next Michael Jordan or Derek Jeter by simply saying it. Unless you’ve put the time into developing such skills, it won’t happen. I am saying that you have the potential for equal greatness in any other field that you can imagine. For example, if you’ve failed as a banker, then banking may have been the wrong medium for you. You may discover that you’re a brilliant writer, who can write marketing ads that generate thousands of dollars per day with major advertising firms competing for your talent! Before you can accomplish anything in life, however, you must first pay with a token of faith!

What is faith? Well, according to Dictionary.com, faith is the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. So far, we know that human beings are born with only 2 fears: that of falling and that of loud noises. All other fears are unnatural! We’ve just read above that faith is a persuasion of the mind. The former is beyond our control, and the latter is based on the willful act of persuasion and acceptance. If faith is a matter of free will, and unnatural fear is learned and, therefore, willingly accepted into the mind, then unnatural fear must be a form of faith that has been placed in ideas that undermine our natural potential for greatness! Do you realize what this means? If unnatural fear is a sort of “dark faith”, then “fear” doesn’t really exist! Imagine that! Fear is not even real! It’s nothing more than a construct of the mind? If you’re the “occupant” of your mind, then can you guess who constructed your unnatural fears including that of failure to accomplish extraordinary things in your life?

Imagine coming to the realization that what you thought you couldn’t achieve all this time was well within your grasp for the taking! All you’ve had to do is claim your inheritance. As an intelligent human being, you’re obligated to be all that you can be; to borrow the famous United States Army slogan. For how long have you allowed yourself to be imprisoned by the illusion of fear? It’s only as real as you make it. When fear is finally dead to the mind, it’s laid to rest in the field of oblivion where it belongs. Real is what you are! You are the wielder of the power that binds you or sets you free.
